Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Buy Opinion On Shares Of Eagle Materials Inc.
May 26, 2025 11:07 AM

02:35 PM EDT, 05/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We lower our 12-month target price by $42 to $262 on an EV/EBITDA of 11.5x our FY 26 (Mar.) EBITDA estimate, above EXP's three-year average forward EV/EBITDA of 9.4x but a 19.6% discount to peers at an average of 14.3x. We cut our FY 26 EPS view by $2.62 to $14.44 and set FY 27 at $16.46. Persistently high mortgage rates continue to pressure the residential construction market, the main driver for EXP's Wallboard business, but we expect pent-up demand to ultimately spark an inflection point. EXP's Heavy Materials segment should also see long-term benefits from increased public infrastructure as IIJA funding rolls out. In our view, increased exposure to aggregates with $175M of investments in FY 25 is a prudent move to further capitalize on IIJA funded projects. EXP's strong balance sheet provides plenty of flexibility to make strategic investments to navigate volatility and uncertainty. We remain at Buy given our view that private and public construction will eventually drive strong growth.
