Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Hold Opinion On Shares Of Baidu, Inc.
May 26, 2025 11:59 AM

04:20 PM EDT, 05/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We keep our 12-month target at USD100 on a P/E of 8.5x our 2026 EPS view (using current FX rates), a discount to peers. After posting a slight Q1 beat on revenues and margins, we increase our 2025 EPS estimate to CNY75.87 from CNY72.91 and 2026 to CNY84.44 from CNY80.24. Although we are encouraged by the momentum in Cloud, we note that elevated investments make us question how long it will take before BIDU can profitably grow the business while we also acknowledge rising competitive pressures across its core ad-based business. BIDU is among the cheapest names across our China-based technology coverage universe and hasn't participated in the China equity rally to the degree others have in recent months due to the greater business risk tied to BIDU's search and ad-based businesses. We see the potential for shares to be re-rated higher should it be able to see stabilization or improvement in ad revenue and continue to successfully scale AI revenue. BIDU has easier comps and China stimulus tactics on its side.
