Bullish on market going forward, says Motilal Oswal AMC

“It will be short covering which will drive the markets on the higher side. Current quarter numbers will have a bearing on where the markets will be headed. I think the initial set of numbers look pretty decent but the later set of numbers needs to be seen. From that point of view, I would be more bullish on the markets going forward,” he said.

“Private sector banks have been doing reasonably well, that party is going to continue,” he added.

“Rupee needs to stabilise if we need to inflows from the foreign investors,” said Sonthalia.

“Microfinance space - 2019 could be a very good year for them. That space looks good. It is only sticking to these names and nothing to do with the public sector undertaking (PSU) banks or the corporate lenders,” he further mentioned.
