SUMMARY

The Indian market is likely to open higher on Monday after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a slew of policy measures to support the economy amid the coronavirus-led disruption. At 6:45 am, the SGX Nifty was trading 10.50 points or 0.12 percent higher at 9,060.50, indicating a positive start for the Sensex and Nifty50.

Reliance Industries: Private equity fund General Atlantic will invest Rs 6,598.38 crore for a 1.34 percent stake in Jio Platforms, the technology subsidiary of Reliance Industries. (Disclaimer: Reliance Industries Ltd., which also owns Jio, is the sole beneficiary of Independent Media Trust which controls Network18 Media & Investments Ltd.)

Coal India: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the auction of 50 coal blocks immediately for commercial mining, implying the monopoly of Coal India will be over.

Cipla: The drug major reported 33.32 percent fall in Q4FY20 net profit to Rs 246 crore from Rs 367.2 crore while revenue stood at Rs 4,376.2 crore versus Rs 4,404 crore, YoY.

Tata Motors: The company plans to raise Rs 1,000 crore through issuance of rated, listed, secured, redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs).

L&T Technology Services: The company’s net profit in Q4FY20 rose to Rs 204.8 crore as compared to Rs 191.5 crore while revenue rose to Rs 1,446.6 crore versus Rs 1,343.1 crore, YoY.

Godrej Consumer Products: The company through its subsidiary acquired balance 25 percent stake in Canon Chemicals.

M&M Financial Services: The company’s net profit in Q4FY20 fell to Rs 234.8 crore as against Rs 686.4 crore while revenue rose to Rs 3,101 crore from Rs 2,880 crore, YoY.

L&T Finance Holdings: The company’s profit in Q4FY20 declined to Rs 386 crore from Rs 547 crore while revenue stood at Rs 3,355 crore as against Rs 3,304 crore, YoY.

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals: Profit in Q4FY20 declined to Rs 102 crore from Rs 140.5 crore while revenue rose to Rs 1,026.34 crore from Rs 1,206.88 crore, YoY.

IIFL Securities: The net profit of the company in Q4FY20 was flat at Rs 37.3 crore while revenue fell to Rs 196.53 crore versus Rs 206.54 crore, YoY.

Eveready Industries: The company’s battery manufacturing facility at Kolkata has started operations partially.

Nippon Life India Asset Management: Profit in Q4FY20 fell sharply to Rs 11.88 crore from Rs 144.93 crore while revenue declined to Rs 254.51 crore from Rs 323.94 crore, YoY.

Q4FY20 Earnings: Bharti Airtel, Torrent Power, GSK Pharma, Delta Corp, Dr Lal Pathlabs, AstraZeneca Pharma, Monnet Ispat & Energy, among others.
