Exchange-Traded Funds, US Equities Rise After Midday

01:10 PM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Broad Market Indicators

Broad-market exchange-traded funds IWM and IVV were higher Monday afternoon. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was up 0.4%.

US equity indexes rose in midday trading, with the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 making new record highs intraday, as the Trump administration made progress in international trade deals.

Energy

iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) added less than 0.1% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) fell 0.1%.

Technology

Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rose 0.7%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) moved higher as well.

SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) added 0.4%, while iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) was up 0.1%.

Financial

Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) was 0.7% higher. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) climbed 2.2%, and its bearish counterpart, Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ), dropped 2.1%.

Commodities

Crude oil shed 0.8%, and the United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.1%. Natural gas dropped 8.4%, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) lost 8%.

Gold rose 0.6% on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) advanced 0.8%. Silver slipped 0.5%, and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) added 0.4%.

Consumer

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) was up 0.1%; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) shed less than 0.1%, and the iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) added 0.2%.

Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) was down 0.7%; VanEck Retail ETF (RTH) and SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) were also in the red.

Health Care

Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) added 0.2%. iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) edged higher. iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell less than 0.1%.

Industrial

Industrial Select Sector SPDR (XLI) was 0.4% higher. Vanguard Industrials (VIS) and iShares US Industrials (IYJ) also rose slightly.
