Foreign investors' focus to be on 2019 general elections, says Allianz Global Investors
Jan 31, 2019 2:32 AM

Foreign investors' focus will be 2019 general elections, said Lucy Macdonald, CIO-Global Equities at Allianz Global Investors, adding that the outcome of the election "will be a point of interest".

There is a perception that a stronger government will help with reform, said Macdonald, adding that investors and commentators prefer a cleaner and stronger government.

Talking about budget, she said that the budget is "clearly going to be in the run-up to the elections". According to her, there will be fiscal loosening ahead of the election.
