Indian markets dodged the week's low and closed higher by one percent. Sensex advanced by 196.37 points at 36,063.81 and Nifty50 rose by 71 points at 10,863.50.

Banking stocks like IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, and HDFC remained in the green territory while Axis Bank saw some pressure. L&T and Infosys also contributed greatly to the Friday's gain.
