Indian equity benchmarks ended higher after the last hour of the trading session aided gains.

Sensex closed at 38,095.07 up by 70.75 points while Nifty closed at 11,462.20 up by 35.30 points. Around 1,132 shares advanced, 1,545 shares declined and 173 shares remained unchanged.
Nifty Bank touched a record high level of about 29,800 level yesterday. Banking stocks witnessed a lot of buying along with metals and FMCG sector. However, auto and IT stocks remained under pressure.
