Hindalco & Vedanta are safer bets compared to Nalco, says Prakash Diwan

On the metal space Diwan said that the aluminium prices were behaving as if they were equity prices on the commodity side and it was precursor to the kind of volatility metal stocks are seeing. Diwan is expecting the volatility to continue for a while. He said, “You will have to give it some time before you start buying into anything. Even if you buy into something, it has to be Hindalco. I am not too keen on buy Nalco.”

On the Delta Corp earnings, Diwan believes it is more a reason to buy now because the triggers that are in the offing for the gaming industry as a whole, he thinks the smaller casinos are going to find it difficult to survive.

He also spoke at length about NBFCs, Balrampur Chini, Thomas Cook, and Tata Motors.
