Engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro Ltd. on Monday announced that its construction division has bagged "large" orders for the power transmission and distribution business in India and overseas in the current quarter.

L&T classifies those orders which are between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore in value as "large" orders.
The company's Power Transmission & Distribution business has won an order to establish 400kV and 220 kV transmission in Chhattisgarh. The project will help relieve the congestion in the state’s electricity transmission grid, the company said.
Another order was won by the said business in Saudi Arabia for turnkey construction of a 380kV substation with associated overhead transmission lines.
A third order was won in Kuwait to build five substations to provide reliable and efficient power supply to an upcoming residential city. Additional orders have been won in ongoing substation orders in Qatar, L&T said.
L&T, in a consortium has also won an order to establish a 275kV underground cable system in Malaysia, to double the power transmission capacity in the existing network.
Earlier this month, the hydrocarbon business of the company had won a Letter of Intent for a "mega" onshore project from a client in the Middle East.
The construction business had also won a significant order from the Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan, to construct a Water Supply Project for 648 villages of the District of Chittorgarh from the Chambal River under the Jal Jeevan Mission (Package-I).
The L&T board will meet on Tuesday to consider and approve the unaudited consolidated and standalone financial results of the Company for the quarter ended 30 September 2023.
Shares of Larsen & Toubro are trading little changed currently at ₹2,899.50.
