Sectors like pharma, IT services and telecom will continue to dominate portfolio construction, said Rahul Singh, CIO-Equities of Tata Mutual Fund.

"I think the trend is very clear that there are few sectors like pharma, IT services, telecom which continue to outperform on every rally," he said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.

Elaborating on the portfolio approach for the current market, he said, “I think there would be catch-up rallies on the laggard sectors, but by and large, I think over the next 6-9 months, a similar trend is going to continue."

"Beyond a point, I think, looking at the index - index valuation and index kind of movement is going to become less and less important," he added.

While giving his view on the auto space, he said two-wheelers look a little better than the rest.
