In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Ashish Kumar Chauhan, managing director, said, "Currently, we are doing a lot of volumes in guar seeds, guar gum, cotton, and turmeric. We are pretty much-becoming market leaders."

"Coming to oil, there are two types of crude that get traded on the world market, one is West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and other is Brent. For these products, we have a tie-up with Intercontinental Exchange to use their prices to do settlements. For Brent contract, we have applied to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) and when it is approved, we will be able to trade on brent crude too," he added.

Speaking about gold, Chauhan said, "BSE has seen some issues in other exchanges because of tremendous volatility and many people got frightened. However, a lot of people are taking BSE very seriously and you will probably see some of that being reflected in the volumes going forward."
