Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Decline Premarket Friday

09:03 AM EDT, 06/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were declining premarket Friday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) down 0.4% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) 0.5% lower recently.

GameStop ( GME ) declined more than 17% after saying it has filed a prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission to offer and sell up to an additional 75 million shares of its common stock, pursuant to its shelf registration.

Vail Resorts ( MTN ) was down more than 8% after the company reported overnight a lower-than-expected earnings and sales for fiscal Q3 while lowering its full-year net income guidance.

Mission Produce ( AVO ) was up more than 7% after it reported higher fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings and sales.
