Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Decline Premarket Thursday

09:11 AM EDT, 04/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were declining premarket Thursday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) was marginally lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) was down 0.3% recently.

CarMax ( KMX ) was down more than 8% after reporting lower fiscal Q1 net earnings per share and net sales.

Rent the Runway ( RENT ) was over 34% higher after it reported a fiscal Q4 loss of $7.02 per diluted share, compared with a loss of $8.07 a year earlier.

Constellation Brands ( STZ ) was up 0.3% after it reported higher non-GAAP earnings per share and net sales for fiscal Q4.
