03:52 PM EDT, 03/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed late Monday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) adding 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) dropping 3.6%.
In corporate news, Tesla (TSLA) shares fell nearly 16% after UBS cut the company's price target to $225 from $259 while reiterating its sell rating amid concerns that softer demand will hit delivery volumes.
Ford (F) said Monday it will inject up to 4.4 billion euros ($4.77 billion) of new capital and financing into a comprehensive business plan for its Ford-Werke unit in Germany. Ford shares added 0.7%.
QXO (QXO) is in discussions to acquire Beacon Roofing Supply ( BECN ) for about $11 billion, the companies said Monday. QXO shares added 0.1% and Beacon jumped nearly 7%.
