09:03 AM EST, 11/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were edging higher premarket Monday, with The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) advancing 0.8%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 2.8% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.8% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 2.8% higher at $71.40 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 2.5% to reach $74.91 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 0.8% at $2.64 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Kosmos Energy ( KOS ) shares were over 2% higher after the company reported Q3 revenue that exceeded Capital IQ-polled analysts' expectations.
