03:10 PM EST, 11/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks fell late Monday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index declining 1.6% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) dropping 1.9%.

The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index eased 0.1%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index dropped 0.4%.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil tumbled 3.2% to $68.99 a barrel, while global benchmark Brent dropped 2.9% to $73.03 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures jumped 6% to $3.32 per 1 million BTU.

In corporate news, Nano Nuclear Energy ( NNE ) shares plunged 26%. The company plans to raise $60 million via a private placement of 2.5 million shares and five-year warrants to buy up to an additional 2.5 million shares.
