08:52 AM EST, 12/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing premarket Tuesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) 0.2% higher recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.5% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 1.3% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.8% higher at $69.77 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.8% to $73.18 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 2.1% at $3.73 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Golar LNG (GLNG) said it acquired the outstanding minority interests in the FLNG Hilli from Seatrium and Black & Veatch for a total of $90.2 million, taking full ownership of the liquefied natural gas vessel. Golar LNG shares fell past 3% premarket.
