09:09 AM EST, 02/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks edged higher premarket Thursday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) recently advanced by 0.1%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.3% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 4.1% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.5% at $72.48 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.5% to $76.45 per barrel. Natural gas futures were 3.5% lower at $4.132 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Cenovus Energy ( CVE ) shares fell past 5% after the company reported lower Q4 earnings and revenue.
