01:29 PM EDT, 06/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1.3% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) adding 1.8%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index climbed 2.1%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index was 0.1% higher.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil was rising 1.8% to $64.50 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was advancing 1.7% to $66.42 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures were 2.8% higher at $3.78 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, TotalEnergies (TTE) is planning to divest a 50% stake of its US renewable assets portfolio, Bloomberg reported. TotalEnergies shares were rising 0.4%.
