09:07 AM EDT, 06/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were edging higher pre-bell Friday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) was advancing by 0.4% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.2% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.3% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.04% at $75.17 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 3.1% to $76.39 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 0.6% higher at $4.01 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
EON Resources ( EONR ) shares were rising more than 2% after the company said its EON Energy subsidiary signed a June 1 purchase and sale agreement to acquire all of WPP NM and Northwest Central's interests in the South Justis Field in the Permian Basin of Lea County, New Mexico, for a total payment of 1 million shares.
