01:35 PM EDT, 08/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks fell Monday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index declining 0.5% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) shedding 0.7%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index dropped 2%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index eased 0.2%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.5% to $64.17 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent advanced 0.4% to $66.83 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 1.7% to $2.939 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, FirstEnergy ( FE ) unit Jersey Central Power & Light plans to invest $15.4 million in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, to make electric service more reliable. FirstEnergy ( FE ) shares were little changed.
