Sector Update: Energy Stocks Advance Pre-Bell Thursday

09:27 AM EDT, 03/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing pre-bell Thursday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF ( XLE ) up 0.8%.

The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 7.5% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 1.3%.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 6.5% at $92.95 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 6.7% to $98.11 per barrel, and natural gas futures were slightly higher at $3.21 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

ProFrac Holding ( ACDC ) stock was up more than 1% after the company reported higher-than-expected Q4 revenue.

Northern Oil and Gas ( NOG ) shares were down more than 3% after the company priced an offering of 7.2 million shares of common stock.

TotalEnergies (TTE) said production has restarted at the Mabruk oil field in Libya, which is located onshore about 130 kilometers south of Sirte. Shares of TotalEnergies were 0.9% lower premarket.
