03:52 PM EST, 11/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks rose late Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index climbing 1.7% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) adding 1.3%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index advanced 0.3%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index rose 1%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.7% to $59.82 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent advanced 0.5% to $63.72 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures shed 0.7% to $4.33 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Williams (WMB) shares rose 3.1% after it said Friday its Northeast Supply Enhancement project has received permits from New York and New Jersey.
NextEra Energy ( NEE ) shares rose 2.1% after Bloomberg reported that the company is in advanced talks to buy closely held Symmetry Energy Solutions for about $800 million.
Petrobras (PBR) shares climbed 5.4% after the company said its new P-78 floating production, storage, and offloading unit is set to begin production at the Buzios field by year-end.
Delek US ( DK ) shares rose 5% after the company said it swung to adjusted earnings in Q3.
