09:20 AM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower premarket Thursday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) was down 0.1% recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.2% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was almost 1% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.04% lower at $70.36 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil fell 0.04% to $74.19 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 1.3% at $2.398 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Liberty Energy (LBRT) shares fell by nearly 7% after the company reported lower Q3 adjusted net income and revenue.
Kinder Morgan ( KMI ) shares were down more than 1% after the company reported unchanged Q3 adjusted earnings from a year earlier and a decline in revenue.
Transocean ( RIG ) shares were up 0.7% after the company said it received a $193 million contract for one of its ultra-deepwater drilling ships from an undisclosed operator in the US Gulf of Mexico.
