03:46 PM EDT, 07/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks gained late Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index up 0.8% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) adding 1.2%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index climbed 3.2%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index increased 0.2%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.7% to $65.53 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent advanced 0.7% to $67.21 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 1.3% to $3.41 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Array Technologies ( ARRY ) shares rose nearly 12%, and SolarEdge Technologies ( SEDG ) gained 7.4% after the US Senate passed President Donald Trump's spending bill without an excise tax on solar and wind projects.
Houston American Energy ( HUSA ) shares climbed 7% after it closed the acquisition of Abundia Global Impact to create a combined company that will prioritize the conversion of waste plastics into low-carbon fuels and chemical products.
New Fortress Energy ( NFE ) shares popped 10% after Compass Point started coverage of the company with a buy rating and $8.50 price target.
Ovintiv ( OVV ) shares were up 3.5% after Goldman Sachs upgraded the stock to buy from neutral.
