09:13 AM EST, 01/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks rose pre-bell Monday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) recently advanced by 0.5%.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.8% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was 0.5% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.9% higher at $76.46 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1.2% to $80.70 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 0.4% at $3.97 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
W&T Offshore ( WTI ) shares advanced by over 3% amid plans to offer $350 million of senior second lien notes due 2029 in a private offering.
Vaalco Energy ( EGY ) shares were 0.7% higher after the company filed a registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission Friday for the potential sale of up to $200 million of its securities from time to time in one or more offerings.
