01:34 PM EST, 03/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks rose in Tuesday afternoon trading with the NYSE Financial Index and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) both gaining 0.3%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index fell 0.2%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) dropped 0.7%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was dropping 2.7% to $64,637 after jumping to a record. The yield for 10-year US Treasuries tumbled 7 basis points to 4.15%.

In economic news, the Institute for Supply Management's US services index fell to 52.6 in February from 53.4 in January, compared with expectations for 53 in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.

Meanwhile, the S&P Global US services index was revised higher to 52.3 for February from the 51.3 flash reading, compared with expectations for 51.4 in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.

In corporate news, Paymentus ( PAY ) shares jumped 27% after the company reported Q4 earnings that doubled from a year earlier following a revenue gain.
