08:46 AM EDT, 08/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks rose in Monday's premarket hours, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) recently advancing by 0.3%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up almost 1% and bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.7% lower.

KeyCorp ( KEY ) shares were up 18% after saying it had reached an agreement with The Bank of Nova Scotia ( BNS ) for a strategic minority investment of about $2.8 billion.
