01:31 PM EST, 01/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks fell in Wednesday afternoon trading with the NYSE Financial Index down 0.6% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) dropping 0.4%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index rose 0.1%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) declined 1.5%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) fell 1.8% to $104,171, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 3.3 basis points to 4.607%.

In economic news, the Conference Board's measure of leading indicators fell 0.1% in December, as expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.

In corporate news, Travelers (TRV) reported stronger-than-expected Q4 earnings amid an increase in premiums and net investment income even as hurricanes pushed catastrophe losses higher. The shares gained 4.4%.
