The Philadelphia Housing Index shed 0.8%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) dropped 0.3%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) fell 1.4% to $83,563, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries dropped 5.2 basis points to 4.23%.
In economic news, the personal consumption price index rose by 0.3% in January, as expected, slowing the year-over-year rate to 2.5% from 2.6%. The core PCE price index increased by 0.3%, also matching expectations, while the year-over-year rate slowed to 2.6% from 2.9% in the prior month.
In corporate news, Citigroup ( C ) mistakenly credited $81 trillion, instead of $280, to a client's account in April 2024 due to an input error and interface issues with the backup system, the Financial Times reported. Citi shares fell 1.3%.
