09:05 AM EDT, 06/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were edging higher premarket Wednesday, with The Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) advancing marginally.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.3% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was unchanged.

Banco Santander (SAN) shares were down nearly 3% after Santander Bank said it has agreed to sell seven branches in the Allentown, Pennsylvania, area to Community Financial System ( CBU ) unit Community Bank.
