03:31 PM EDT, 04/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks increased late Monday afternoon with the NYSE Health Care Index adding 0.9% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) up 0.6%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 1.7%.

In corporate news, Hepion Pharmaceuticals ( HEPA ) said late Friday that it has started wind-down activities in its phase 2b ASCEND-NASH trial of rencofilstat, while continuing to explore strategic alternatives. Its shares plunged 29%.
