The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 1.7%.
In sector news, the US Department of Health and Human Services said Tuesday it's taking immediate measures to carry out President Trump's executive order aimed at lowering prescription drug costs for Americans through a "Most-Favored-Nation" pricing model.
In corporate news, DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) shares dropped more than 16%. The company filed late Monday a registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission covering a potential resale of up to 289 million shares by some selling stockholders "from time to time."
