The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 1.7%.
In corporate news, AstraZeneca ( AZN ) shares were falling 0.9% after the company said Monday its shareholders approved a special resolution adopting new articles of association, allowing the company to proceed with plans to harmonize its equity listing structure across London, Stockholm and New York.
Pfizer ( PFE ) said Monday that it has filed a second lawsuit against Metsera ( MTSR ) , its controlling shareholders, and Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , claiming that the Danish pharmaceutical giant's proposed acquisition of Metsera ( MTSR ) is anticompetitive. Pfizer ( PFE ) shares were easing 0.2%, Metsera ( MTSR ) fell 2.7%, and Novo shed 0.8%.
Aurinia Pharmaceuticals ( AUPH ) has filed a lawsuit against US Food and Drug Administration drug division chief George Tidmarsh, accusing Tidmarsh of defaming one of its drugs, among other allegations, according to media reports Sunday. Aurinia shares were down 0.6%.
