01:54 PM EST, 01/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks declined Thursday afternoon with the NYSE Health Care Index dropped 0.4% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) shedding 0.7%.
The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 2.7%.
In corporate news, AbbVie ( ABBV ) shares fell 3.7%, a day after the company lowered Q4 adjusted EPS guidance following charges related to acquired in-process research and development.
Teleflex ( TFX ) shares fell 11% after the company lowered its 2025 revenue forecast to the range of $3.27 billion to $3.28 billion from previous guidance of $3.31 billion to $3.32 billion. Stuart Randle was appointed as interim CEO, effective immediately, succeeding Liam Kelly.
Tango Therapeutics ( TNGX ) shares declined 4.2%. Barbara Weber retired as CEO, effective immediately. She will serve as executive chair in 2026 and move to a non-executive chair role in 2027. Malte Peters, a board member since 2018, was appointed as CEO.
