The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 2.1%.
In corporate news, MannKind ( MNKD ) shares fell past 12% after the firm reported a Q4 net loss $0.05 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected an EPS of $0.02.
Kenvue's ( KVUE ) attempt to dismiss a lawsuit by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was rejected by a state judge on Thursday, Reuters reported. Paxton has accused the company of falsely marketing Tylenol by concealing possible autism risks to children whose mothers took the painkiller while pregnant, the report said. Kenvue ( KVUE ) shares were up 1.2%.
Soleno Therapeutics ( SLNO ) shares fell 10%. The firm said Thursday it has named Jennifer Fulk as chief financial officer, succeeding James Mackaness, who will retire from the company by the end of Q1.
