01:17 PM EDT, 07/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Wednesday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 0.8% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) climbing 2.3%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 1.7%.

In corporate news, Verint Systems ( VRNT ) shares jumped past 11% after Bloomberg reported the company is in talks to be bought by private equity firm Thoma Bravo.
