01:02 PM EDT, 10/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Thursday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 1.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) adding 3.3%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 2.4%.

In corporate news, IonQ ( IONQ ) , Rigetti Computing (RGTI), D-Wave Quantum (QBTS) and Quantum Computing (QUBT) are in talks to give the US Commerce Department equity stakes in exchange for federal funding, The Wall Street Journal reported. IonQ ( IONQ ) and Rigetti shares rose 5.5% and 6.2%. D-Wave and Quantum Computing shares climbed 12% and 5%, respectively.
