The Philadelphia Semiconductor index shed 1.8%.
In corporate news, Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google plans to financially support a multibillion-dollar data center in Texas that is leased to Amazon ( AMZN )-backed (AMZN) Anthropic, the Financial Times reported. Alphabet shares declined 2.4%, and Amazon ( AMZN ) fell 4%.
Apple ( AAPL ) awarded out-of-cycle bonuses to many members of its iPhone Product Design team, Bloomberg reported.
