The Philadelphia Semiconductor index dropped 1.4%.
In corporate news, Cloudflare ( NET ) said Tuesday it resolved an outage that caused disruptions to global internet services, including to the sites of social media platform X and ChatGPT, though some customers continued to face issues. Cloudflare ( NET ) shares were down 1.6%.
Amazon.com ( AMZN ) and Microsoft ( MSFT ) were both downgraded to neutral from buy by Rothschild & Co. Redburn. The European Commission said Tuesday that Amazon ( AMZN ) and Microsoft ( MSFT ) are the target of three probes over the possibility that they are violating antitrust regulation. Amazon ( AMZN ) shares fell 3.7%, and Microsoft ( MSFT ) dropped 3%.
Meta Platforms' ( META ) Chief Revenue Officer John Hegeman has decided to step down from the role, Hegeman announced Tuesday via a post on Facebook. Meta shares were down 0.4%.
