Sector Update: Tech Stocks Mixed in Afternoon Trading

01:51 PM EDT, 08/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were narrowly mixed Monday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) adding 0.3%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index increased 0.5%.

In corporate news, MeridianLink ( MLNK ) on Monday agreed to be acquired and taken private by funds advised by affiliates of investment firm Centerbridge Partners in an all-cash deal that values the company at about $2 billion. MeridianLink ( MLNK ) shares jumped past 24%.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) and Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) have agreed to give 15% of the revenue from sales of their advanced AI chips to China to the US government, according to media reports. Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares were up 0.3%, and AMD was adding 0.8%.

Sapiens International ( SPNS ) is in talks to sell a controlling stake to US investment funds at a valuation of $2 billion to $2.2 billion, tech news website CTech reported. Sapiens shares climbed more than 8%.

C3.ai ( AI ) shares tumbled 24%. The company reported a wider-than-expected fiscal Q1 preliminary non-GAAP loss from operations late Friday.
