The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 0.4%.

In corporate news, Super Micro Computer ( SMCI ) shares fell 9% after the company said it plans to offer $2 billion of convertible senior notes due 2030.

Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) cut its Google TV and Android TV budget by 10% and trimmed staff, The Information reported. Alphabet shares fell 1.3%.
