01:29 PM EDT, 09/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed Wednesday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 0.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) shedding 0.8%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index decreased 0.6%.
In sector news, China will levy anti-dumping duties on certain cut-off shifted single-mode optical fiber from the US, effective Thursday, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a statement from China's Commerce Ministry.
In corporate news, Alphabet (GOOG) shares jumped 9% after several analysts raised their price targets on the stock following Tuesday's federal court ruling that its Google ( GOOG ) unit will not have to sell its Chrome browser to comply with antitrust rules.
Vimeo ( VMEO ) said it will cut its worldwide full-time headcount "by just under 10%," with implementation expected to be substantially complete by the end of Q4. Its shares fell 1.5%.
Garmin ( GRMN ) said it is launching its Fenix 8 Pro series of GPS smartwatches, which will have satellite and cellular connectivity.
