Indian shares traded in the red on Tuesday dragged by the heavyweights like L&T, SBI, Sun Pharma, HDFC Bank, and Reliance Industries. At 2:23 pm, the Sensex was trading 174.73 points or 0.43 percent lower at 40,627.44 while the Nifty50 index was down 70.20 points or 0.58 percent at 11,978.
Prestige Estates shares climbed 12.53 percent to its 52-week high of Rs 363.50.
Polycab's shares surged 4.59 percent to its 52-week high of Rs 978.95.
Pfizer's share price rose 4.63 percent to its 52-week high of Rs 4,388.55.
Max Financial's share price rose 3.75 percent to its 52-week high of Rs 524.75.
