11:37 AM EST, 11/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- All three major US stock indexes were up in late-morning trading on Monday, as the stock market looks to rebound from a down session the week prior.

In company news, Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) said Monday its weight-loss drug semaglutide failed to meet its primary endpoint of reducing Alzheimer's progression in two phase 3 trials that included a total of 3,808 adults. The drug failed to show a statistically significant reduction in disease progression compared to a placebo combined with standard of care, the company said. Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) shares were down 5.7% around midday.

President Trump is mulling whether to allow Nvidia ( NVDA ) sell its advanced artificial intelligence chips to China, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Monday in a Bloomberg TV interview. Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares were up 1.5%.

Tesla's (TSLA) statement regarding Dutch approval for its Full Self-Driving system in February 2026 depends on it first proving the technology meets safety requirements under the agreed schedule, the Netherlands Vehicle Authority RDW said Monday. Tesla shares were up 7.0%.

Union Pacific ( UNP ) and the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers said Monday they have reached an agreement that guarantees job security for union employees after the company merges with Norfolk Southern ( NSC ) . Union Pacific ( UNP ) shares were down 1.2%, while those of Norfolk Southern ( NSC ) were down 1.0%.

Barrick Mining ( B ) shares rose over 6% Monday after the company said it reached an agreement with the Government of Mali resolving all disputes tied to the Loulo and Gounkoto mines. All charges against the company, its affiliates, and employees will be dropped, and steps will be taken to release four detained employees, according to a statement.

Amazon.com ( AMZN ) said Monday it will invest $50 billion to expand Amazon Web Services' artificial intelligence and supercomputing capabilities for its US government customers. The investment, which is set to commence in 2026, will add almost 1.3 gigawatts of AI and supercomputing capacity across AWS Top Secret, AWS Secret and AWS GovCloud Regions, the company said. Amazon ( AMZN ) shares were up 2.2%.
