Top stocks to watch out for on April 4: Jet Airways, RIL, Mahanagar Gas

SUMMARY

The Indian benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE’s Nifty 50 are likely to open higher on Thursday, tracking positive cues in the global markets and ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy decision today. All the respondents to CNBC-TV18's poll expect a rate cut from the monetary policy committee in its first bi-monthly policy. Global cues are also likely to support the sentiment as Asian markets reached their 8-month high in early trade. Weak monsoon forecast by private agency Skymet may limit gains. Jet Airways: Lenders of the cash-strapped airline will meet today to discuss interim funding plans. In other news, the airline on Wednesday said it deferred the March salary payment to its employees and will provide an update by April 9, 2019. (stock image)

IL&FS: The government-appointed board of IL&FS said the gross non-performing loan of its lending arm IL&FS Financial Services (IFIN) has touched an unprecedented level of 90 percent in the December quarter.

SpiceJet, IndiGo: The airlines have been offered nearly 10-12 unused slots of Jet Airways at Delhi airport for an interim period, sources in the know told CNBC-TV18.

Indiabulls Housing Finance: The HFC on Wednesday said it has raised Rs 17,300 crore in the March quarter of 2018-19 and plans to borrow Rs 26,000 crore in the current financial year.

Mahanagar Gas: The company on Wednesday said the basic prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) and domestic piped natural gas (PNG) will be increased by Rs 1.51 per kg and Rs 1.88 per SCM, respectively effective from Thursday April 4. (stock image)

Vedanta: Vedanta Resources Limited on Wednesday said mined metal production during 2018-19 fell to 936,000 tonnes as against 947,000 tonnes in the year ago period.

SAIL: The Steel Authority of India Ltd on Wednesday said its crude steel output grew by over 8 per cent to 16.3 million tonne (MT) during the financial year ended March 31.
