May 3 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes opened
higher on Friday after a softer-than-expected jobs report
revived hopes of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates this
year, while gains in Apple and Amgen on upbeat corporate updates
added support.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 483.7 points,
or 1.27%, at the open to 38,709.36. The S&P 500 rose 58.6
points, or 1.16%, at the open to 5,122.78, while the Nasdaq
Composite rose 306.5 points, or 1.94%, to 16,147.482 at
the opening bell.
