10:52 AM EST, 03/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were rising on Friday morning, up 1.3% to 1,970.37 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN) and chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM), which advanced 8.6% and 6.1% respectively.
They were followed by digital freight platform Full Truck Alliance ( YMM ) , which gained 5.7%.
The decliners from North Asia were led by on-demand retail and delivery company Dada Nexus ( DADA ) and education firm TAL Education ( TAL ) , which fell 5.9% and 4.9% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by business process management company WNS (WNS), which rose 1.5%, and IT company Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) , up 0.8%.
The decliners from South Asia were led by tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which fell 1%.
