10:41 AM EDT, 09/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were lower on Friday morning, down 0.3% to 1,982.70 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by electric vehicle makers XPeng ( XPEV ) and Li Auto ( LI ) , which advanced 3% and nearly 2% respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by software company Tuya ( TUYA ) and photovoltaics company Daqo New Energy ( DQ ) , which fell 6.1% and 4.7% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by Indian information and communications technology company Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) and India's ICICI Bank ( IBN ) , which rose 2.5% and 2.2% respectively.
The decliners from South Asia were led by Indian technology company Wipro ( WIT ) , which fell 1.2%.
